Bible and Quote - March 10-14
'Bible verse and quote' from Jan Couns
Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. Psalm 91:14 Over all who maintain their fellowship with God, tender guardian care is extended. Their heavenly Father Himself interposes between them and their adversaries. Charles Spurgeon 1834-92
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. Psalm 91:15 God is faithful. He will hear you and direct you through the darkness. Let Him prove you, and give Him opportunity to prove Himself to

Wisdom
'God's Words For US' from Cecelia Lester
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5 (NASB)
“Lord, what can I do about that?”
“Jesus, how did that happen?”
“Lord, why would he do something like that?”
“God, what can we do to help them?”
How many times have we asked God questions like these? When we find ourselves face to face with a circumstance we don’t understand, James tells us how we can receive answers to our questions like this.

The Hill
'Chip Shots from the Ruff of Life' from Tom Kelley
Johnson Bible College has been affectionately called The Hill for a number of years. Seeing the sparawling forty acre campus now as compared to old photographs from the early 1900's reveals why. J. B. C. was built on a hill originally. Ashley S. Johnson, the founder, set it there to be easily seen. From the White House, the President's home since it was built in the early 1900's, to the old administration building which bears the evidence of the "School of the Evangelists", Johnson's dream was realized.
The Hill has, over the years, rendered the results that many hills do.

Not Many Wise
''Winging It' from Stan Smith
So, the pastor was preaching from Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth when we came across this item.
I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. (1 Corinthians 2:3-5)
He said before that, "I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." (1 Corinthians 2:2) He said "I was weak" and "in

Achimota
'The Way' from Kevin Pauley
Your duty is to go and preach the coming of the Kingdom of God. – Luke 9:60
There is a village on the Gold Coast of West Africa, called ‘Achimota’. It lies seven miles from the infamous Christianborg castle where slaves were held for the slave ships. Across a wooded hill above the village runs a path trod by thousands of slaves headed for a life of misery. This hill was the last chance of escape before they reached the dungeons from which they would be shipped across the Atlantic. Sometimes slaves would manage to escape the chains and would be cared for by villagers.

The Comfort of the Scriptures (12-20-10)
'Today's Little Lift' from Jim Bullington
Tributes are altogether too infrequent in our lives. A tribute can be as simple as a kind word to someone who is struggling to do a good job. Or, it can be as elaborate as a preplanned program complete with speakers, awards, testimonials, and the like. It could be a bouquet of flowers to the mother of your children. It could be a small gift coupon to your child in recognition of just being a super kid. Tributes come in all shapes and sizes, but I do think they don't occur as frequently as they should. Today's message is a tribute, tribute to the written word of God.

What You Tell Jesus Can Tell Jesus About You
'Word from Scotland' from Sandy Shaw
Fear can paralyse us spiritually - we can fear what people around us may say - what they may think. The antidote to a small fear is to get a bigger fear - fear of the possibility of disobeying God.
Then - Jesus goes on to speak about being on trial - on trial for our faith - being arrested for what we believe - and

All You Can
''Christ in You...'' from Dale Krebbs
Have you ever felt that what you are doing for Jesus Christ seems like it isn't enough? Or perhaps it is the opposite. Do you sometimes feel that, in some way that you can't really explain, you have done too much in the wrong way, or at the wrong time? If we are born-again Christians, we naturally want to do more spiritually. Whether it be in service to others, in the church, in the work of our occupation, or just in overcoming our own flaws and hang ups - enduring in the place and life where we have been called. Those who are relatively new to the faith are often discouraged that,

No Help for Me
'Voice of Inspiration' from Andy Castro
1Lord, HOW they are increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.
2Many are saying of me, There is no help for him in God. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
3But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
Psalm 3
"When it rains it pours" is how the old saying goes.
The scripture above has a sense of this saying weaved in it.
I'm sure you, as I have, experience this when you go through a difficult time in your life. It seems as if more problems heap on top of others.
But it's not just the problems

I can hardly believe it has been twenty years. This date has long been etched in my memory banks as one of the more frustrating ones in my life. Some days do that. They burn deeply into our memories and do not allow us to forget them. Some are bad memories while others are good ones. This one is neither. This one is just frustrating.I was working with the Empire State Evangelizing Association, Syracuse, New York in one of their

Words to Ponder
It seems God is limited by our prayer life - that He can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him. - John Wesley

Bible-in-a-Year NAS
1 Samuel 14; Psalms 59; Romans 5:
Saul was staying on the outskirts of Gibeah under the pomegranate tree that is in Migron. And the people who were with him numbered about six hundred men; and Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the priest of the LORD at Shiloh, was wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan had gone. Now between the gorges by which Jonathan sought to cross over to the Philistines' garrison there was a rocky crag
